Gordon Henderson MP visits young people in Sheerness

Young people taking part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) in Sheerness teamed up with Litter Angels and local MP Gordon Henderson to help clear the Fleet in Sheerness of rubbish.

The litter blitz saw the removal of over 20 bags of rubbish, a bike and a shopping basket. All in a day’s work for young people on NCS, which is all about young people making a difference to their local community as well as having fun.

Johnny Soutan, Youth Team Leader said:

‘It was a fantastic day! The young people from NCS worked alongside Gordon and his Litter Angels to clean up a stunning area where they live. With the sun on our side, it was a superb start to the NCS summer programme. Everyone worked really hard to collect all the litter with recycling being on everyone’s thoughts. It was a great team building activity that brought all the young people from NCS closer and ready for the summer ahead.'
