Police and Crime Commissioners: An Opportunity of a Threat?
There are now around 14 weeks to go until the election of Police and Crime Commissioners across England and Wales - arguably the most significant legslative change to affect Trusts in recent years.
The emergence of PCCs will not only impact on Trusts, but on their primary partners: local authorities and other local contributors to crime reduction initiatives.
The Association has continued to provide Members with updates throughout this year on the Coalition's plans for elected commissioners. This work culminated with two events for Trusts, held in partnership with the Probation Chiefs Association and NOMS - one in London and another in Wakefield.
Employers Make Pay Offer to Chiefs' Unions
The employers' side has made an offer to the Standing Committee for Chief Officer Grade (SCCOG) trade unions to settle this year's pay negotiations.
The last of three leadership development workshops takes place in September.
Trade unions are ballotin on whether to accept the proposal fo changes to the local Government pension scheme of which probation employees are eligible to join.
