New Secretary of State and Probation Minister Welcomed
Chris Grayling was appointed Secretary of State and Jeremy Wright Prisons and Probation Minister in the Cabinet Reshuffle. The Association has written to both to congratulate them on their new jobs.
We have requested an early meeting with Mr Grayling. It is an Association priority to meet and brief both on our positions.
Mr Wright, a former Government Whip, telephoned Chief Executive Mark Ormerod to introduce himself. He said he had been impressed with the Association's Annual Review 2011-12 and that he looked forward to meeting the PA soon.
Sebert and Mark Visit Northern Ireland
PA Chairman Sebert Cox has made a return visit to the Probation Board for Northern Ireland following his successful trip last year, this time accompanied by Chief Executive Mark Ormerod.
Seven Trusts Volunteer For PREview Pilot
NOMS has written to all Trusts confirmed the involvement of seven Trusts which volunteered for the piloting of a new approach to contract settlement for 2013-14.
The PA Board and PCA Executive held a joint workshop at which a shared vision for a single organisation was confirmed and possible organisation design discussed.
